HOW A PHILANTROPIC GROUP FOUND ITS CAUSE

In 2007, a group of young men who had grown up together in Virginia Beach wanted to give something back. They decided to pool their resources and talents to help area families affected with disabilities. The Virginia Gentlemen Foundation was born as a non-profit organization.

The following month, the brother of one of the founding members was diagnosed with ALS, or Lou Gehrig’s disease. In response, the Virginia Gentlemen Foundation narrowed its focus to support the local fight against ALS. With energy and resourcefulness, the Virginia Gentlemen Foundation has since rallied the community and the region in unprecedented ways, quickly becoming a leading fundraiser for the National ALS Society as well as, developing other projects and initiatives to support this community.

To date, the Virginia Gentlemen Foundation has raised over $9 million to help fight and find a cure for ALS.

Current Board Chairman. Scott has also served as Chair for the Norfolk Sertoma Club and the Virginia Beach SPCA. He lives in Virginia Beach with his wife, Katie, and enjoys his time developing several growing businesses when he's not involved with non-profit activities.

JAMES W. NOEL III

VICE-CHAIRMAN

James is our current Vice-Chairman.

He also serves as SVP/General Counsel for The Franklin Johnston Group and resides with his wife, Lindsey, and two children, Ford and Lacy, in Virginia Beach. He remains active with other non-profits as well.

Will serves on the Future Generations Board of Children’s Hospital of the King’s Daughters and the boards of the Chesapeake Bay Wine Classic, the Virginia Gentlemen Foundation, and the Virginia Beach Surf and Rescue Museum.

Alex serves as a member on the board of Old Dominion Athletic Foundation, Chesapeake Bay Wine Classic Foundation, and Priority Toyota Charity Bowl.

JUSTIN BALLARD

Justin Ballard is the Director of Business Development for S.B. Ballard Construction Company. He also serves on the Hampton Roads Associated General Contractors (AGC) Board and is a founding member of the Virginia Gentlemen’s Foundation. Justin is married with twin daughters and is a proud United States Marine Corps Veteran.

JUSTIN BEALE

Justin, a Hampton Roads native, is the Director of Sales & Marketing for The Main in downtown Norfolk part of the Gold Key I PHR Hotel and Resort’s’ portfolio. Justin is proud Alumni of Cape Henry Collegiate School and attended Colorado State University with a Bachelor of Science in Recreation and Tourism.

ZACHARY BRANDAU

Zack is a founding principal and President of Core Assurance Partners, a privately-held insurance and risk management brokerage. He was born and raised in Hampton Roads and now lives in Virginia Beach with his wife, Katie, and two daughters.

Andrew was born and raised in Virginia Beach. He is Co-Owner and Operator of Tarnished Truth Distilling Company and The Hunt Room at the Cavalier Hotel. In his spare time, you can find Andrew enjoying all the outdoor opportunities that our wonderful state and city have to offer with his family.

Daniel A Hoffler Jr. , a native of Virginia’s Eastern Shore, currently sits as the youngest member on the VGF board. After graduating Hampden-Sydney College, Hoffler began his career in commercial development, and excavation.

NATE FINE

Born and raised in Norfolk, Va. Nate has roots in tidewater dating back 5 generations. He currently works in the commercial real estate firm The Runnymede Corporation. Nate works in both the development and management side of the business.

RICKY FRANTZ

Born and raised in Virginia Beach. Ricky received his bachelor of business administration with minors in corporate law and marketing management from Stetson University, and his master’s in business administration from the Mason School of Business. He is the Senior Vice President of Commercial Banking with Atlantic Union Bank.

MARK REICHLEY

A Philadelphia native and former U.S. Naval Officer, Mark has called Virginia Beach home for over a decade. He currently co-owns and operates Coastal Cosmetic + Implant Dentistry. Mark is married to Virginia Beach local, Jessica, and together they have two young children, Cash and Cameron.

ROSS VIERRA

Since 2007, Ross has served as one of the original Founding Board Members, Past Chairman, and Treasurer of the Virginia Gentlemen Foundation. Currently the CEO/President of Axis Global Enterprise and ASI Security, a Construction, Technology and Security Solutions provider to government and the commercial industry.
